PAM for Textile & Dyeing
Cationic PAM decolorizes dyeing effluent and removes suspended solids. Anionic PAM serves as a sizing agent to improve fabric strength and weaving efficiency.
Dyeing Wastewater Treatment
Textile dyeing generates highly colored wastewater with suspended dyes, pigments, and fibers. Cationic PAM flocculates these contaminants, achieving 90%+ color removal and enabling water reuse or safe discharge. Typical dosage: 5-15 mg/L.
Printing Paste Thickener
PAM serves as a thickener in textile printing pastes, improving paste viscosity and reducing bleeding during printing. It also acts as a binder, improving color fastness and wash durability of printed fabrics.
Textile Sizing Agent
Anionic PAM is used as a sizing agent on warp yarns to improve strength, reduce breakage during weaving, and enhance fabric hand feel. It washes out easily during desizing without leaving residue.
Sludge Dewatering
After primary treatment, textile mill sludge is dewatered using cationic PAM on belt presses or centrifuges. High-charge-density CPAM achieves 75-80% moisture reduction, cutting disposal costs significantly.
Treatment Dosage
| Application | PAM Type | Dosage |
|---|---|---|
| Dyeing wastewater | CPAM 40-60% CD | 5-15 mg/L |
| Printing paste | APAM 8-12M MW | 2-5 kg/t paste |
| Warp sizing | APAM 5-8M MW | 1-3 kg/t yarn |
| Sludge dewatering | CPAM 40-60% CD | 3-8 kg/t DS |
